SeaMist's history, is rightfully first the history of GreyStone Aerie. Greystone, represented by the colors of teal and pale grey, and the last aerie to be founded upon the western continent. It was carved into the grey granite hills, in the tail end of the Switchback Mountains, near where they met the sea. Due to the hardness of the rock there, its design was rather unconventional for the time, with all of the common areas of the Aerie being built from the local stone, including the rider's huts and the hatching sands. It was a place of oddly rugged beauty, of interconnected valleys that might hold a hut or two along with a small clear pool, while being connected with the larger whole of the aerie by worked paths of stone or dirt.

Not surprisingly, GreyStone became quickly known as a place for mining of all sorts, from the quarries for stone to the deeper mines for metals, especially iron. Along with the new boom in mines, came the miners and generally, GreyStone had a higher percentage of those guilders than anywhere on the continent.

With its unique setup, GreyStone was poised to be something different from the other aeries on the planet and indeed, it worked for the best part of three hundred years. But still, it was its unconventional design that played into the havoc caused by the menace when they attacked, moving back into the valleys they had used so many years before as a nesting ground. Their attack decimated the aerie, leaving it nearly destroyed and certainly rendered it unlivable for decades to come, necessitating that the folks that once lived there move on.

Beyond the loss of life and destruction of the Aerie, two clutches were warming on the sands at the time of the attack. Both Immoku and Xheryniiku bravely defended their clutches, but in the end only Immoku's clutch was saved and moved to RedCliffs. Xheryniiku and Aika lost heart with the lost clutch. They simply could not continue to lead others in the face of such heartache. Add this to the injury of K'lis in his valiant fight to protect the doomed Aerie and it was obvious the Lord and Lady needed time to heal emotionally and physically. Those who survived were moved to RedCliffs to recooperate as the dragon riders tried to decide what to do.

Many months passed and it was decided to rebuild elsewhere. It was simply too dangerous to return to the valley. A site was found and construction began on the new Aerie. Meantime, discussions began about who should be Lady of the new aerie. With K'lis injuried and Aika in no condition to lead the search began. After much deliberation, it was decided that, of all the likely candidates, Fian would serve best as the Lady of the new Aerie with N'ris as her Second. With her gold Crythaill, Fian began the daunting task of organizing the new Aerie which was christened SeaMist.

It wasn't long after the Aerie finally opened and residents and riders moved in that Crythaill rose to mate. A long and energetic flight finally found Brown Luuku embracing the golden queen. With that embrace, M'thye became Lord. The first clutch adding to the Aerie's population two silvers, two browns, four reds and a blue. A good beginning that was quickly followed by Immoku's clutch of one bronze, one brown, two blues, two reds and a green. And finally, to everyone's relief, Aika's Xheryniiku rose again to be caught by bronze Jatirll. Their clutch added to the Aerie a silver, a brown, two blues, a green and two reds. It seemed a joyous beginning for the Aerie that was born out of heartache. Crythaill rising the second time once again found herself embraced by Luuku and it seems that this may become a trend. A stabilizing hope that the prosperous beginnings of SeaMist will continue for years to come.
